Step two in obtaining a Micro Brewery license or Distillery license

January 11, 2016

Step two in obtaining a Micro Brewery license or Distillery license is to build a relationship with the government department that controls your future license. Most people make the mistake that dealing with a government regulator is an adversarial process. NO! Government employees who issue Micro Brewery licenses and Distillery licenses are there to help you and to guide you in providing information on your license application. They might be short with you at first, but that is because they do not have a relationship with you. First, introduce yourself to them and ask for their name. Tell them where you want to start your Micro Brewery or Distillery. Call them by their name often. Tell them that you have been on their web site. Tell them you need a little guidance. Have the site up so they can walk you through. Even if you have no questions, make this call, walk through the site and they will think you are a wiz. Let them know that you are doing this on your own as money is tight. Thank them for their help and ask if you can call them back for help if you need it. My Blog next week, Step 3, Review the Application.
